Service
When we become members of the United Methodist Church we vow to uphold it by "our prayers, our presence, our gifts, our service, and our witness."
Here is one of the ways we make ourselves available by our service:
Bean's Cafe
Bean’s Café is a center where the hungry and homeless are provided with hot nutritious meals, a warm and safe day shelter, information and referral assistance to health and human service programs. They also serve families in temporary crisis, the seasonally unemployed, and assist various local agencies in the feeding of children. Bean’s Cafe exists to provide the most basic of human needs without discrimination or cost to anyone requesting assistance.
Support Bean’s Café by donating:
- Large cans of coffee, and gallon size cans of vegetables and fruit.
- New as well as gently used, clean socks are welcome; they should be crew length or longer.
- Sandwich bags, paper towels and disposable paper cups for hot beverages are also needed.
The box for donations is in the coat room, off the main lobby of the church.
